Blue Christmas Service Offers Comfort and Hope During the Holiday Season
A Service of Remembrance & Hope
Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 · 5 pm
The holiday season can be a time of joy for many, but for others it can bring feelings of grief, loneliness, or heartache. To provide a space for comfort and reflection, Union United Methodist Church will host its annual Blue Christmas Service on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at 5 pm, at 1101 State Street in Quincy.
This Service of remembrance and hope is a gentle, contemplative worship experience designed for anyone who is hurting or struggling during the Christmas season. It offers a time to honor loved ones who have passed, acknowledge personal losses, and find encouragement through God’s presence and community support.
The service is hosted in partnership with Melrose Chapel United Methodist Church and Vermont Street United Methodist Church, reflecting a shared ministry of compassion and care within the Quincy faith community.
“All are welcome,” said Paster Marty Pressey. “Whether you’re grieving a loss, facing a difficult season, or simply need a quiet moment of peace, this service reminds us that we are not alone. God meets us in our sorrow and offers healing and hope.”
The Blue Christmas Service is open to all and free to attend.
