Born and raised in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, the Reverend has been playing the blues since 1971 when he first saw Freddy King play at the Kinetic Theatre in Chicago. After a 16 year hitch in the Navy, Chief Raven moved to Milwaukee where he began a long friendship and collaboration with Madison Slim, long time harmonica player for Jimmy Rogers. Since 1990 he has opened for B.B King, Gatemouth Brown, Pinetop Perkins, Koko Taylor Band, Junior Wells, Lonnie Brooks, Lefty Dizz, Rod Piazza, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jeff Healy, and numerous others at festivals and at Buddy Guy’s Legends where he has been on rotation as a headliner for 20 years.
The band is comprised of Reverend Raven (guitar & vocals), Westside Andy (harmonica & vocals), Craig Panosh (drums), and P.T. Pedersen (bass).
Bring your food, your drinks, your friends and your lawn chairs for a great time in Washington Park. On-site food for this concert will be 8te Open & JKW BBQ. QUINCY, IL — Stroll through The Heart of Quincy as you partake in The District’s 2025 Progressive Dinner. This once popular District event will be held on Thursday, June 5 and showcases four popular downtown spaces and four eateries. Dinner event spaces include The Armory, 416 Jersey, Wine Gal Meets Whiskey Guy, 119 North 4th, One Event Venue, 600 Hampshire, and The Pour Haus, 625 Maine. Dining establishments include Highly Flavored Catering, Platt Daddy BBQ, Thai D’Lish, and Krazy Cakes. Tickets for this unique and delicious event are $50 per person and go on sale April 1. “This is a beloved and highly anticipated event within The District, we are excited to bring it back. The last Progressive Dinner was held in 2019,” stated The District Executive Director Brianna Rivera. “Generally, tickets sell out very quickly. Dinner courses begin at 5:30pm at The Armory, and will feature charcuterie boards by Highly Flavored Catering.
The second course, heavy appetizers by Platt Daddy BBQ, will be held at Wine Gal Meets Whiskey Guy, at 6:15pm.
Diners will then head to One Event Venue for the third course and to enjoy heavy appetizers by Thai D’Lish at 7:00pm.
The evening of dining will conclude with desserts from Krazy Cakes at 7:45pm at The Pour Haus.
Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at The Armory, Wine Gal Meets Whiskey Guy, One Event Venue, and The Pour Haus.

The District to Host Annual Pub Crawl

The District Pub Crawl graphic and logo QUINCY, IL – The District invites everyone 21 and over to participate in its annual St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 8. Cost to participate in the event is $20 per person and includes official Pub Crawl swag–lanyard and koozie–and on/off bus route privileges. Event-themed swag will be given to those who choose to ride the Pub Crawl buses. Attendees can hop aboard a bus (or walk) to participating establishments in The District. “This is the event we feel officially kicks off spring here in The District,” stated Executive Director of The District Brianna Rivera. “We will have three official Pub Crawl buses running throughout the night spaced several stops along the Crawl route and prizes will be awarded to most spirited individual and most spirited couple.Tickets need to be purchased in advance. Physical tickets need to be picked up at The District office, 501 Hampshire, in March. Ticket pick-up dates and times will be sent when tickets are purchased.
14 Quincy establishments are participating in this year’s St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. Participating bars will each have at least one official Pub Crawl drink, some establishments will also have entertainment and food specials. This year’s participants are, The Rodeo, The Scoreboard, The Ratskeller, Quincy Brewing Company, The Pour Haus, Quincy Axe Company, On The Rail, Joker’s Lounge, Little D Sports Club, Lucky Streak, North Side Boat Club, State Street Theater, Wine Gal Meets Whiskey Guy, and Parkers Pub..

The District encourages everyone to mark their calendars for their next Shop Local Saturday event–Summer Sidewalk Sales–on Saturday, August 9 from 10am-3pm at participating District businesses. While every Saturday is a chance to discover the heart and soul of The District, the special-themed Shop Local Saturdays like this one, offers the opportunity for more than a traditional shopping trip.
As summer begins to wind down and back-to-school shopping ramps up, this is a great opportunity for both businesses and shoppers. “In addition to retail businesses, The District is filled with a variety of coffee shops, cafés, and restaurants, which are also encouraged to participate with specials,” stated District Executive Director Brianna Rivera. “We anticipate shoppers will find great deals, special promotions, and experience a fun day of shopping at businesses located in The Heart of Quincy.” This year’s event is based on the motto – Stroll the sidewalks, shop local, and soak up the summer vibes — you never know what treasures you’ll find!
The District Shop Local Saturdays include special themes that encourage not only shoppers to shop but also business owners to participate. From Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Sidewalk Sales, to Shop Small Saturday in November and Holiday-themed shopping events in December, these special Saturdays are the perfect opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends while supporting local businesses.
